On November 7, 2025, a delegation from the College of Defence Management under the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of India, led by Lt Gen Harjeet Singh Sahi, visited the Diplomatic Academy under the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED).

   During the meeting, the Director of the Diplomatic Academy, A.Khaydarov highlighted the steady development of friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and India. The guests were also briefed on the Academy’s structure, educational programs, and international cooperation, including joint initiatives with India’s MERI Group of Institutions, with which a book entitled “India-Uzbekistan perspectives on connectivity between South and Central Asia” was jointly released at the end of 2024. In addition, presentations were delivered on Uzbekistan’s renewed foreign policy strategy and current trends in cooperation in Central Asia.

   The discussion also covered issues related to the situation in Afghanistan, joint efforts to combat terrorism and extremism, the development of Uzbekistan’s transport and communications sectors, as well as the potential opportunities and prospects for further strengthening Uzbek–Indian relations.
