On March 13-15, 2024, the Director of the Institute of Diplomatic Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Mr. Walid Haggog, paid a working visit to Tashkent. During the visit, Walid Haggog met with the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Rector of UWED S.Safoev, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan B.Aloev, and Director of the IACIR at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan S.Valiev.

During the meeting with the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis and the Rector of UWED, the egyptian guest was informed about the main directions of socio-political and economic reforms and their tangible results achieved over the past six years in our republic. The issues of developing cooperation between the two diplomatic institutions of the two countries were discussed. Following the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Diplomatic Academy at the UWED and the Institute of Diplomatic Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Walid Haggоg was also received by First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs B.Aloev. During the conversation, a range of issues related to the development of bilateral relations were touched upon and readiness was expressed to further expand multilateral cooperation, including the training of diplomatic personnel. 

During his stay in the republic, Walid Haggog also visited the IACIR at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, where further steps of  bilateral cooperation were discussed.

During his visit to UWED, V.Haggog gave a lecture for students and undergraduates of UWED and the Diplomatic Academy on the topic of “The role of Egypt in the Middle East”.
