In the framework of the visit’s program, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the National Leader of the Turkmen people, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The Head of State sincerely congratulated Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with organizing the International Forum “Interrelation of Times and Civilizations – Basis of Peace and Development" dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Turkmen poet and philosopher Magtymguly Fragi at the highest level. 

During the conversation special attention was paid to the issues of further expansion of Uzbek-Turkmen strategic partnership, deepening multifaceted cooperation primarily in political, interparliamentary, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. Dynamic growth of bilateral trade, joint work for launching cross-border trade zone, strengthening cooperation in the fields of energy, transport, agriculture and water management were noted with satisfaction. Events in the framework of active interregional, business, culture and humanitarian exchanges are held regularly. Leaders of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan also reviewed current issues on the regional and international agenda. A schedule of upcoming contacts at the highest level was discussed.  The Head of our State presented the National Leader of the Turkmen people with a collection of selected works by Magtymguly published in Uzbek language.
