On May 2, 2024, a scientific and practical conference on the topic "History, current state and further prospects for the settlement of the Middle East problem" was held at the Diplomatic Academy at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) with the participation of the faculty and undergraduates of the Academy, as well as graduate students of UWED.

The scientific and practical conference was led by the head of the Department of "Special Disciplines" of the Academy, Associate Professor A.KHashimov.

The director of the Diplomatic Academy, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor A.Khaidarov opened the scientific and practical conference and in his opening speech noted that the Palestinian-Israeli conflict has a long history, which in recent times has led to several Arab-Israeli wars. It was also noted that in order to resolve this problem, the UN Security Council adopted a number of resolutions calling on the parties involved in the conflict to start peaceful negotiations. Several peace conferences have been held in the context of UN Security Council resolutions, including the Madrid Conference of 1991.

Norway also acted as an active mediator in conflict resolution, with the participation of which the Oslo 1 and Oslo 2 agreements were signed.

Kushaeva Nigina Bakhromzhonovna - The reaction of Arab countries to the situation in Gaza in the context of the settlement of the Middle East problem (on the example of Saudi Arabia).

Juraev Sardorbek – About the participation of the pro-Iranian Houthis in Yemen and Hezbollah in Lebanon in the recent events in Gaza.

Jorakulova Bakhtiniso Tajiddin qizi - Uzbekistan's position on the settlement of the Middle East problem.

The participants showed great interest in the topic of the conference "History, current state and further prospects for the settlement of the Middle East problem".

At the end of the event, detailed answers were given to the participants' questions and the necessary recommendations were given to take into account in the course of their further scientific work and practical activities.
